When you first start ProQuote, you will be asked to enter a login name and the password.

After you login, you will see the main Quote List form showing a list of quotes in the database. You can quickly rearrange the data columns or sort the quote list to suit your needs.

ProQuote consists of three main databases, including a customer, price book and quote databases.

To get familiar with how to access these databases, use the main tool bar icons to open and then close the following modules:

• Customer Information
• Quote Builder
• Price Book

The Price Book is the primary source of data that you use to build a new quote. You can also type information from the keyboard or copy items from other quotes. But let's explore the price book first.

The price book is an on-line catalogue of all your products and services. With a Windows Explorer like interface, the price book is divided into sections and subsections. Each section or subsection contains part information for one product family. There is no limit on the number of sections, sub-sections or parts in the price book. You can also create any number of data fields associated with items including multiple pricing levels, short and long descriptions, product categories, features, material and labor costs, specification and much more.

To open the price book you press the Price Book icon on the main toolbar. The Price Book window contains two sub windows. To the left shows the price book directory while the right side window displays the individual parts associated with one section.

Importing Products from an external source (e.g txt, Excel or mdb) is very easy with ProQuote's import wizard.
